Seventh Annual JADPRO Live Conference for Oncology Advanced Practitioners Explores Innovation in Cancer Care

Published by Annie Yueh 4 years ago

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (PRWEB) May 03, 2019--Over 1,400 nurse practitioners, PAs, and pharmacists (collectively referred to as advanced practitioners, or APs) will gather together for the seventh annual JADPRO Live conference to discuss the latest improvements in cancer care and advance the integral role of APs on the collaborative care team. The meeting will take place from October 24 through 27 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle.

“We are very excited for JADPRO Live to come to Seattle,” said Gabrielle Zecha, PA-C, MHA, Director of Advanced Practice Providers at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Conference Chair for JADPRO Live 2019. “Medical innovation is key to better patient outcomes, and there is no place like Seattle to be a part of that innovation.”

Innovations in cancer care delivery have revolutionized the way clinicians care for patients with cancer. The accelerated pace of discovery offers exciting new options for patients with previously poor outcomes, but with it brings challenges to stay up to date on providing high-quality, effective care to patients.

Among the US practices that responded to the 2017 American Society of Clinical Oncology practice census, 81% reported employment of APs. The aging US population and projected shortage of hematologists/oncologists have propelled the roles and responsibilities of APs on oncology care teams in all types of practice settings.

JADPRO Live is the largest oncology conference for APs, inspired by the first journal written by and for oncology and hematology advanced practitioners, the Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology (JADPRO). It is held in conjunction with the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology (APSHO) annual meeting, a society of more than 1,500 highly specialized clinicians who are on the frontlines of patient care, managing treatment plans, educating patients, and elevating the quality of care through interdisciplinary collaboration.

Over 4 days, more than 50 acclaimed speakers will showcase the latest in evidence-based care, and attendees can earn more than 20 continuing education credits at certified sessions. Activities to network and interact with other attendees will take place both within the session rooms and in the exhibit hall.
